Fayose To Be Detained For 14 More Days: He Refuses To Cooperate Despite The Overwhelming Evidence Against Him. - EFCC.

"You are no court of law, you can't force me to say what I don't want to say. I have told you earlier and I'm saying it again, it is only in the law court that I can get justice". - Fayose.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday secured a Court order to detain the former Ekiti state for an extra 14 days which may be extendable according to their interrogations.

The officials of the Commission frowns at what they construe as Fayose non compromising or non-cooperating stand since his questioning started.

There have been no formal charges against the former governor apart form petitions written by his political opponents and the election funding allegation. There is no law in Nigeria that supports the prosecution of anyone based on his election funding.

Although excess funding of elections may be morally wrong, but there is no law that criminalises anyone receiving them.

Fayose has challenged the EFCC to charge him to court if they have any evidence to prosecute him.
